As a human centered design researcher and strategist, AND a yoga teacher, I believe that the focus must be on individual differences, motivations, social/familial environment, and personal desires. Knowing yourself and how you move in the world is step one, and people have to WANT to change. It cannot come from the outside. Digital reminders/prompts are great but only if the user wants to hear what is being said and can see themselves as responsible for reaching a goal. We must also keep the focus on process vs. outcome. There is no real end-game...being and staying healthy is a mind-set not a static place. People have to want to be healthy, look healthy and feel healthy to make the deep changes and commitment needed to stick with it. I've seen dramatic changes in people's lives, even those dealing with chronic pain and illness,when they stick to their yoga practice, but it is a life-long "practice" not a goal in and of itself.Mary Kay McCawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12759162849882138002noreply@blogger.com
